    Riverdale, MD – M-NCPPC, Department of Parks and Recreation in Prince George’s County announces the cancellation of all outdoor programming for July 15 due to extreme heat in the Washington Metropolitan area. Indoor facilities remain open, and indoor programs will continue as scheduled. All cooling centers and indoor and outdoor pools will remain open and operate under regular scheduled hours. Patrons are encouraged to postpone visits to:

    • Parks
    • Trails
    • Outdoor tennis, pickleball, basketball courts
    • Synthetic turf fields
    • Playgrounds
    • Golf courses
    • Picnic pavilions
    • Campgrounds
    • Playgrounds
    • Trap & skeet
    • Old Maryland farm
    • Any other outdoor Parks and Rec facility

  • All Outdoor Programs Cancelled by M-NCPPC, Department of Parks and Recreation in Prince George’s County

    Wednesday, July 10

    Riverdale, MD – The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC), Department of Parks and Recreation, Prince George’s County, has announced the cancellation of all outdoor programming starting at noon on July 10, 2024, due to extreme heat in the Washington Metropolitan area. This includes the closure of all athletic fields and the Wonderful World of Watkins Amusement Complex, will close at 2:00 pm today.

    Indoor facilities remain open, and indoor programs will continue as scheduled. Patrons are encouraged to postpone visits to outdoor sites and instead take advantage of the many indoor activities and amenities available. All cooling centers and indoor and outdoor pools will remain open and operate under regular scheduled hours.

Athletic fields are now closed. Indoor facilities remain open, and indoor programs will continue as scheduled. Patrons are encouraged to postpone visits to:
