Updated Trail Closure Notice: WB&A Trail Bridge Repair

Please be advised that the WB&A Trail will be temporarily closed at the bridge over Highbridge Road beginning Monday, July 13, through Wednesday, July 15, 2026, weather permitting, to complete critical repairs to a severe trip hazard.

During the project, trail users will not be able to travel past Highbridge Road in either direction. The remainder of the WB&A Trail will remain open and accessible. We ask all trail users to be patient, use caution, and follow all posted signs and barricades while this important safety work is completed. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to make the trail safer for everyone.

The 5.6-mile WB&A Railroad Trail is located on the site of the former Washington, Baltimore, & Annapolis Railroad. The beautiful, semi-rural corridor provides an ideal site for a recreational trail stretching from the Glenn Dale area of the county to east of Bowie State University. The flat, barrier-free trail is designed to appeal to a wide variety of users.
