Is your dog ready to run legally, off-leash and make new friends? Dog parks offer fenced-in areas for large and small dogs to exercise and socialize. For the protection and enjoyment of all park users, please observe all dog park rules.


College Park Dog Park at Acredale Community Park

College Park Dog Park is open for members who would like to exercise and socialize their dogs. The half-acre area of the park is fenced for dogs to romp. For information, or to join, write to:

Heurich Dog Park at Heurich Community Park

Nicholson Road and Ager Road, Hyattsville, MD 20782


The Heurich Dog Park is a one-acre fenced area for dogs to play off-leash with fellow canines. The park includes separate areas for large and small dogs. Future improvements will include a pavilion for shade, agility obstacles, and a drinking fountain. Funding for the total project is $100,000, paid for with Maryland-National Capital Parks and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC) bonds. No membership is required.


Riverdale Dog Park

5400 Haig Drive, Riverdale Park, MD 20737

The Riverdale Dog Park is a new addition to the existing Riverdale Community Recreation Center. The fenced Dog Park includes:
  • 0.78 acre area for large/medium dogs
  • 0.21 acre area for small dogs
  • Accessible on street parking for two vehicles
  • Accessible walkways
  • Sitting areas
  • Water fountain
  • Shade trees

Rollins Avenue Dog Park

701 Rollins Avenue, Capitol Heights, MD 20743

  • 12,000 square foot fenced area
  • Artificial turf surfacing manufactured exclusively for dog parks
  • Drinking fountain, benches, tables, and shade trees
  • Shallow concrete “lazy river” trough for water play
  • A play hill, bridge, boulders, and pretend fire hydrants to keep dogs busy
