M-NCPPC STATEMENT REGARDING RECENT

“PEACE CROSS” WORLD WAR I VETERANS MEMORIAL DECISION

The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission has received the decision issued today by a closely divided Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals in the Bladensburg Peace Cross monument case. Our talented legal team is busy studying the court’s opinions carefully and will keep open our option to seek review by the United States Supreme Court. We will be withholding further comment on the case until my clients reach a decision on the next steps. - Adrian R. Gardner, M-NCPPC General Counsel.
